Vietnam: Policy Highlights and Opportunities

Each year, approximately 8.8 million tons of food in Vietnam are either lost or wasted along the supply chain.

The benefits of greater food recovery and donation are particularly apparent in Vietnam, where an estimated 5% of the population face food insecurity. The government of Vietnam has prioritized food insecurity and food loss and waste (FLW) reduction as part of its national agenda.
